Xively Insights: A unique perspective on the Internet of Things November 27, 2013 | by

Pachube. Cosm. Xively. We have had quite a few name changes over the past several years, and met plenty of brilliant people creating the next big paradigm shift in technology. For the past decade (and longer for diehard dreamers), the Internet of Things has been an idea tested and simmered among analysts, researchers, and forward-thinking developers. As we move into 2014, however, something feels different. That simmer now seems ready (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) to boil. Enter the era of the Connected Customer – an era bringing with it a host of business, technological, environmental, and humanitarian opportunities and challenges that we hope to address with Xively Insights.

We want Xively Insights to be a think tank for envisioning the connected device technology that will permeate every home, office, and city. The Xively authors have a diverse background in enterprise, cloud computing, entrepreneurship, sensors, artificial intelligence, and other IoT-related topics. We’re inviting guest authors across a number of industries to write about their experience in making IoT real for their customers or vertical.

Consider this your destination for all things IoT…but not just your run-of-the-mill “IoT will be huge!” kind of IoT chatter. Let’s talk about the ins and outs of making connected devices real. We want to talk about the bigger experience of connected things that causes real change. Are you ready for the revolution? Let’s go!
