LogMeIn’s Xively to Address IoT Business Opportunities, Sponsor “Save the Bees” Hackfest at Telecoms Techworld 2013 November 21, 2013 | by

BOSTON – November 20, 2013Xively, a subsidiary of LogMeIn (NASDAQ: LOGM) and creator of the first public cloud platform for the commercial Internet of Things (IoT), today announced that Chad Jones, Xively’s Vice President of Product Strategy, will be a featured speaker at Telecoms Techworld, taking place November 26-27, 2013 at Olympia Central in London, England, and is sponsoring a “Save the Bees” hackfest as part of the conference’s two-day M2M Hackfest.

Jones will be on the panel, “Opportunities, Partnerships and Challenges within the IoT and M2M Space,” on November 26 at 2:00pm. He will explore how machine-to-machine communication is evolving into extreme connectivity enabled by the Internet of Things, and how operators and enterprises can take advantage of the growing IoT ecosystem to deliver compelling new services and boost revenue.

As part of Xively’s “Save the Bees” hackfest, the company is challenging participants to use Xively Cloud Services and connected devices to build a solution for studying the declining bee population and encouraging growth. First-, second- and third-place teams will receive £700, £500 and £300 respectively. The winning team will also receive one year of the Xively starter package for up to 100 devices.

Telecoms Techworld attendees can see Xively in action at booth #3, and learn how Xively Cloud Services can help telcos, connected product companies and enterprises rapidly and cost-effectively develop innovative solutions and new business models.
